Audix has announced its sponsorship of the Montavilla Jazz Festival. The music festival will take place on Saturday and Sunday, August 20 and 21, 2016 at Portland Metro Arts, a non-profit community center for arts education and performance. This is the festival’s third year running.

“Whenever we have the opportunity to partner with an emerging member of the local music community, everybody wins,” says Chris Doss, Audix VP of Sales and Marketing. “The Montavilla Jazz Festival focuses on Portland-based artists, and we are excited to support a neighboring music organization. We look forward to doing what we do best, providing optimum audio solutions to this great event.”

The mission of the Montavilla Jazz Festival is to support and strengthen local music culture and to enrich the Portland community by showcasing the best of the city’s originally composed, progressive jazz. The festival chooses artists based solely on their skill and creativity, supporting musical excellence in the Portland area by providing a platform for both emerging and established local acts.

“I was thrilled to learn that Audix Microphones was interested in sponsoring Montavilla Jazz Festival 2016,” says Neil Mattson, the festival’s Development Director. “We are honored to have the support of one of the top microphone companies in the world. It just shows, as a local company, how much Audix cares about the jazz scene here in Portland.”

Montavilla Jazz Festival is sponsored by SE Uplift, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit and a coalition of twenty Portland neighborhoods. The festival is dedicated to enriching the lives of Montavilla, OR residents by supporting neighborhood schools and their music education programs, and a portion of ticket sales will benefit the Montavilla Schools Music Fund.
