OM7 | Dynamic Vocal, Microphone
Concert Level Professional Vocal Microphone with Unprecedented Gain Before Feedback
The OM7 vocal dynamic microphone is used by professional sound companies, front of house and mixing engineers as well as high profile fixed installations. The OM7 provides unprecedented gain before feedback on concert level stages without sacrificing sound quality. In addition, the mic is very resistant to feedback on extremely loud stages and for performers who tend to “cup” the microphone with both hands.
In order to achieve these extraordinary performance benefits, the OM7 dynamic vocal microphone is designed with an unconventionally low output level (8-10 dB lower than typical dynamic microphones). This low output level acts as a natural “pad” at the capsule in order to maintain high fidelity at the source. The OM7 hypercardioid microphone is best suited for use with high quality mixing consoles which have plenty of head room to compensate for the low gain.

"I have been using OM7's for the past 20 years and it is still my absolute favorite live vocal mic."
Dave Rat, FOH Red Hot Chili Peppers, Blink 182
"The OM7 are really good and the band like them.There’s not a lot of EQing involved, Ragnar Þórhallsson and Nanna Bryndís Hilmarsdóttir’s vocals are very different but put them together and they sound amazing. It’s not a loud stage but there is still spill but the Audix OM7 is very resistant to feedback.;
Richie Dempsie, FOH Of Monsters and Men
"Great clarity, smooth response and tight pattern control with the best off axis rejection of any vocal mic, the OM7 limits our 2 drumkits from leaking into the vocals. This mic is a winner for anyone needing a great sounding vocal mic thats keeps all the other stuff on the stage out of it."
Gary Hartung, FOH The Doobie Brothers
"With little time to ring out monitors then sprint to FOH on the big festivals makes me thankful for my OM7's. Without that extra 6 to 12 db gain to feedback above the rest, I would never be able to enable the band to hear their vocals properly." Tommy Rat, FOH Zebrahead
"The OM7 has got me out of some tight situations and is a great problem solver. When playing on tight, loud stages there is no other mic that has given me as clear and upfront vocal without all the nasty background noise. On the big stages with bands that only use floor monitors, it cuts away all that wash from the floor mixes, side-fills and backline without compromising the integrity of its own source."
Chris Braun, FOH Blue King Brown, Australia
"An important part of my job is making sure that Eddie gets the right vocal sound on stage – after all his performance depends on it. For the past 17 years we’ve used the OM7 to accomplish that task – and it’s never let us down."
Karrie Keyes, Monitor Engineer, Pearl Jam
Dave Rat demonstrates off axis rejection and sensititivy by comparing several different mics.
